Our Story

After being an adjunct professor, we hedged our bets starting this small business. In a basement in Portland, Oregon, in 2017, Jess began by making commission pet portraits. The product & business model have evolved several times since then.

Jess became an art therapist & noticed many therapists in private practice had a tough time making solid branding choices for their small business, (this is for various reasons; see our Blog for more on that!)

Our Team

  • Jess Minckley

    Owner & Chief Designer

Jess (they) is the creator of Minc Work and serves as a one-person-band. A professional artist, college professor, board-certified art therapist & mental health counselor, Jess is a natural helper, entrepreneur & part-time ding dong. They like to work with people who value aesthetics, honesty, and believe that delegation is a strength.

  • Delany Davis

    Administrative Assistant

Delany (she) is a California-born creative who holds a BFA in Visual Media Arts with specialization in Production from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She moonlights as Woman Friday for Minc Work. You’ll find she’s delightful to communicate with, and is as efficient as she is kind.

  • Manuel Sicairos

    Junior Designer

Manny (he) is a digital art wizard, politics junkie, and die hard Subaru/McLaren F1 GTR dork. He outgrew art school and became a freelance graphic designer whose car-culture projects have been seen by eyes all over the planet. He helps us with graphics, business practices, & generally keeps it real.

Disclaimer: We work on ”Crip Time”. This is a Disability Community phrase about sustainability. This disrupts and challenges ableist, capitalist expectations of productivity, time, & ways of being. As disabled people we move, build, organize, & work at different paces and invite an extension of compassion & grace to us all as we navigate a changing world.
