This month I decided to offer a HALF OFF sale on portraits and have had an overwhelmingly positive response. I've gotten twelve requests for portraits in the last few days and I couldn't be happier to be painting again.
Today, I'm starting a piece of a chihuahua, who recently passed away. His owner is my friend from Otis, Edgar Ibarra, a tattoo artist in L.A. Edgar named the dog Andy Frijol Warjol, which I LOVE SO MUCH! It's a Spanish art joke, if you don't know, frijoles are beans.
He's got a little underbite too. Cute little buddy will be sorely missed. I love doing memorial portraits, because after I had to re-home my dog, Grover, to protect him from biting more people, I was so sad. Seeing a painting of him was a good phantom. That and all the dog hair I keep finding.
I'll post an update when I get into the swing of the drawing.
